Earthquake Insurance
Earthquake Insurance can be a crucial part of your asset protection plan, and like Flood Insurance this is coverage typically not covered or excluded by one's Homeowners or Renters Insurance or Commercial Property.
Consider taking these steps as part of good planning & being prepared for this type of loss:
- Research the earthquake hazard in your area
- Secure the contents of your home to reduce the likelihood of damage and injury
- Investigate how well your dwelling is designed and constructed to resist damage from earthquake motion and EQ retrofit the structure if necessary or as you wish
- Analyze your finances and develop a financial recovery plan, i.e. EQ Insurance, in case an earthquake damages or destroys your home and/or its contents.
Types of Earthquake Insurance Coverage

- Generally only covers the Dwelling to full limits similar to Homeowners Insurance policy

- Comprehensive EQ policy or "Full" EQ Insurance
- Full EQ limits generally match the in-force Homeowners Insurance policy
